Hey there!
Welcome to the yarn•love blog and pam’s first entry. (Thanks to Teresa at Affinigent for being such a great teacher!). Before I get started, I wanted to share my goals for the blog. My strategy is three-fold: provide frequent, informal updates to you on all things yarn•love (while still continuing to place a more formal newsletter in your email inbox each month); open up lines of communication and hear from YOU by encouraging you to post replies; and have fun!

Wrap yourself up in something new
It definitely feels like fall here with new yarns arriving in wonderful colors and weights. One yarn I am in love with is Araucania Ranco. This sock/fingering weight yarn is hand-dyed in Chile in the most delicious multi and tonal colorways. In addition to knitting up sensational socks , I can see fabulous drapey wraps and cool chevron scarves alternating two colorways. I am turning this yarn into Clapotis, and, oooh la la, this French-inspired wrap will be magnifique and tres chic.
While we’re speaking of wraps, we are thrilled to launch our first shawl kit – Fall Shawl by Sherriewear. The shawl, modeled here by Lynne Shuey, is a multicolored, multitextured rectangular wrap that is knit in several different stitch patterns. Shelley Scholl, a yarn•love favorite, fell in love with the purple shawl kit and is knitting it up so she can have a fabulous, fun wrap for her upcoming vacation. After all, shouldn’t we love the shawl we’re with?! Kits contain the pattern and six fine yarns; retail price ranges $55-69 depending on kit yarns.

Those who know me (and you don’t have to know me well to know this!), know that I just love, love, love my wraps. So, it really is no surprise that my first blog focuses on them! I have already dog-eared multiple pages from "Wrap Style" by Interweave Press…but I want to hear from you. What is your favorite wrap pattern or project?
knit & crochet on!

Re: blog launch!
I haven't always loved warps BUT Pam is VERY convincing. I am especially diggin the caplet. The mobieus caplet class seems like a place to start a "wrap wardrobe"!

Dear Mr. Steve,
You shawl can! Just think of them as wider scarves.
