Lustra Trunk Show!

Before I get into this weeks "What's New" I'd like to make an apology. For those of you who have tried over the past several weeks to comment on our weekly postings and couldn't, I am sorry. Late last week Pam discovered that our comment function wasn't working. I am happy to announce that all is once again hunky-dory! So if something makes you laugh, or a brilliant idea comes to mind as you read-- please share. Your name will be entered into our monthly prize drawing.

What's New: Today I got an e-mail followed by an excited phone call from Pam. The Berroco Lustra trunk show arrived at Yarn-Love! It will be on display now through Saturday, January 23. If you haven't heard about this wool-tencel blend then you must stop by Yarn-Love! Seriously, Lustra absolutely shimmers. It is soft, gleams like silk, but affordable.

Each of the eight garments are from Berroco's Lustra booklet #289 which features classic yet feminine designs. Knit on a size 7 needle this worsted weight yarn holds endless possibilities--whether you are following a pattern or creating your own design. Just for you we have garment quantities of multiple colors on our shelves waiting to be scooped up!

Fiber Focus: Tencel is the commercial name for lyocell. Made from wood pulp this relatively new fiber was originally compared to Rayon. However, over the past 10 years or so it has become softer and is used as an added fiber in many clothes and household items. Tencel dries quickly, being more absorbent than cotton fiber. It is also used heavily for travel clothes as it retains its shape and makes packing light.

I'll be working this weekend as Pam plays with her delightful nieces. So come on by and see this yummy goodness!

Oh, and we also have a sample of the Mia swing cardigan knit up in the Lustra yarn. Jeanene knit this up for her class this past spring.
