Yarn Love

New Year, New Classes!

The holidays are finally behind us. Okay so my decorations are still up and I'm not really sure they'll be put away until February, but mentally I've moved beyond the candy, presents, and festivies. However, after all the hustle and bustle I need something to look forward to and sadly spring is too far away.

So... I'm taking a class. Actually, my mom and I are taking it together. Classes are a great way to expand your current knowledge and comfort level in a fun, relaxed, and friendly environment. Plus, by taking a class you get to meet other crocheters and knitters and feel more connected to this community. I can think of several "classmates" who took a happenstance meeting and have crafted it into a friendship.

Here are a few classes that are coming up within the next few weeks. Rally a friend (or a few), sign up with a relative, or come solo and ready to meet new people! For more info, check out the Classes section of the website.

I really enjoyed the crochet workshop. Now I have even more projects started. What is it about the new year that is so inspiring that we think we can accomplish almost anything--for example remembering how to crochet (it's only been 40 years or so...) Thanks Alice and Pam, I had a really great time.

I'm so excited for the Queen Anne's Lace Scarf class next week. Both Shop Girl Lois and I are taking this (almost full) class with Alice. It will be a busy crochet week here at the shop with two almost-full crochet classes!

Since I'm making the lacey scarf as a Valentine treat, I picked out a new red yarn that will appear on our shelves next month. Lois was also in the heart-day mood and selected Araucania Aysen in pink-red-fuschia colorway. FUN!
