A new yarn is on the shelves at yarn-love. It's called Sweet Georgia. I hadn't heard of it before Pam told me we were getting it. Located in Vancouver, Canada they are passionate about color- rich and saturated. yarn-love is carrying two of the fingering/sock weight yarns. The first is Tough Love Sock. I picked up three skeins in peashoot last week to knit my little girl the Sock Yarn Sweater by Knitbot. The yarn is a superwash wool/nylon blend which means it's perfect for socks since it will take the abuse of actually wearing them. For other non-sock projects, you will love the smooth, slightly elastic quality of the yarn.
The second yarn from Sweet Georgia is CashLuxe Finewhich contains a combination of superwash merino, cashmere, and nylon. I fondled the maple (orange, rust, buttercup, ivory, and brown) and bison colorways (a solid deep brown) last week. I'm still toying with using them to make Spectra. Can't you just imagine how lovely that shawl would be in those colors? All I can think of are little stained glass windows of autumn. Sigh.
Yes, Sweet Georgia will have you sighing. Their colors are bold, but not overwhelming. Despite being newly introduced to the company and the yarn, I'm definitely happy we have added Sweet Georgia to our yarn-love family.
