There has been quite a bit of knitting going on at my house. For starters, I'm still finishing up gifts. Thankfully I completed three inches in an hour last night on the first of a pair of mitts for my brother. I'm knitting them out of Donegal Tweed. The yarn will be perfect for mitts as it will slightly felt and after a good soak in Eucalan with a little hair conditioner they'll soften right up! Here's hoping I can complete them before it's time to hand them over.
I successfully finished my Churchmouse Shoulder Cozy. I held a light green Luna mohair with the lime Debbie Bliss Donegal Luxury Tweed. It is fantastic. Right now I have it blocking, but be sure to check into the yarn-love page on Ravelry over the weekend to see the finished product. I'm actually getting ready to cast on for a second shoulder cozy for my Mama. It's a lovely blue tweed with white Debbie Bliss Angel mohair. It was such a quick, fun project. My favorite thing about capelets/shoulder cozies is that you pop them on and they stay put! I need some things to stay put in my life right now. :-)
Speaking of our littlest shop girl... She is in desperate need for her mother to knit her a sweater. She hit a growth spurt and things are either too big, too thin, or too small. Sigh. So over the weekend, while my husband is home to wrangle, I'm hoping to make headway on Knitting Pure and Simple's Baby Pullover in Dream in Color's Classy Beach Fog.
Finally, if you're in the shop later this week, check out the sample I just finished. It's for our My First Hat class. The class will be meeting Tuesdays, January 17 & 31. I used Ella Rae Lace Merino Worsted for my hat. I even have plenty left over to do a second hat! If you're interested in learning how to use circular needles, this class will teach you all you need to know. Check out our full list of classes here.
What's on your needles friends?
