In 3 days is First Friday. Can I get a Whoo Whooot? There have been quite a few new faces at yarn-love lately and I'm hoping they'll join us at our once-a-month gatherings. First Friday is when yarny friendships are formed, laughs had, and knitting/crocheting encouraged. We gather, packing the parking lot and the shop (tip #1:bring your own chair!), and do what women have been doing for ages, talk.
Talk, talk, yackity, clackity, talk talk talk. Project questions are asked, new projects discussed, yarn caressed, finished projects oohhed over (tip #2: bring show-and-tell!), new yarn awwwed over, vacation destinations considered, laughing, good natured teasing, and more fondling of yarn. It's a time to leave your cares at the door, and enjoy a few hours away from the kids, the calendar, life.
We, the shopgirls, try to make the evening as pleasant and delightful as possible, which isn't hard as it's like a family reunion--only everyone actually wants to be there! This First Friday we're having some special treats just for you, our yarn-love friends. Check your e-mail inboxes for a newsletter coming shortly. I can guarantee that if you are just now deciding to do knitted holiday gifts (like me!), we can help. If you need something to reward yourself from all the holiday knitting you've been doing since July, we can help. (tip #3: bring an open mind to try something new!).
