Hello!

This love note highlights a few things happening at yarn-love in the past (Knitters' Day Out) and in October (What's New, First Friday, Socktober Yarn Specials). I hope you're enjoying the cooler weather and are planning your fall knit and crochet projects. I just cast on for Debbie Bliss' Shoulder Cape with her new Fez yarn – a worsted weight merino-camel blend. The yarn is lovely to knit with, and it effortlessly creates even stitches and perfectly curvy cables.

Knitter's Day Out

We had a blast seeing so many of you at Knitters' Day Out last weekend, and we were excited to meet so many new friends. At the event, yarn-love unveiled several new yarns, kits, and knitted garments (more on these in What's New). If you weren't able to join us at the show, or perhaps were on fiber overload, we've included a few photos of our KDO Booth.

What's new?

Here's a quick list of new yarns, kits, and knitted samples on display at yarn-love:

• Altobish B Sharp B Natural fingering weight bamboo-wool weight yarn in colors inspired by dialogue from Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice (sigh)

• My Favorite Wrap kit includes 4 delicious and decadent hand-dyed yarns by Ellyn Cooper and a wrap pattern designed by our own Jeanene Reed. You've asked for it and we agreed to continue the KDO show special kit price of $99 until October 11 (non-sale kit price is $108).
• Kitty kit includes Kitty pattern by Heirloom Stitches, a skein of Trill In the Garden, and a ribbon sash. The kit will make a size 2 lacey top for a special little girl; pattern and yarn are also available separately.

First Friday and Second Sunday reminder

Fall into yarn-love this Friday, October 2nd, when we will be open 10 am – 9 pm. Bring a friend and a project, and plan to hang out with us. And, we hope you can join us on Second Sunday, October 11, when we will be open 1-4 pm.

Socktober yarn specials

We know there are so many gorgeous patterns tempting us to knit or crochet with sock/fingering weight yarn – such as Damson, Milkweed Shawl, Café Capelet, and many more. Plus, have we mentioned socks? We want to make it easy for you to stock up on our luscious sock yarn!
