yarn-love forecast: cool weather and warm knits!
Has this fall weather put some pep into your step? Cooler weather and falling leaves seem to propel me into action – tackling home projects, taking longer walks, and busily casting on for lots of new projects that will (eventually) keep me warm. Everything seems fresh and crisp again. Even my senior kitty Madison is frisky once again as he breaks into a (brief) sprint across the room and pounds his tail against the floor as he watches the busy chipmunks and squirrels outside. But, like me, he also
adores finding a patch of sun, curling up, and keeping warm! Here’s hoping you find time for your own ‘pep’ to create beautiful handmade items that will keep you warm for many cool seasons to come.
Please read on to learn about what's new at yarn-love including classes, hot projects, our upcoming calendar and events, our spotlight on… (a new feature for you!), and a yarn-love SALE (Friday, October 22 through Wednesday, October 27).
Hope to see you soon!

what's hot now
We wanted to share a few popular projects; each is pictured. Annabella's Cowl is a supersoft, snuggly cowl or hood that is knit by holding two lovely yarns together (Manos Silk Blend and Filatura’s Golden Superior). Mittens, Mittens, Mittens! If you’re new to knitting in the round or making a thumb gusset, don’t worry – we have a class to help you master mittens. We have samples knit in Manos Maxima and chunky, tweedy Schulana Cambada. Ruth’s Entrelac Butterfly Shawl continues to soar. If you’ve never knitted an entrelac project before, we will soon add a ‘learn to entrelac class’ to our calendar. Let us know if you would like to be added to the interest list for this class. would you like to start first?

spotlight on...
Here's our new feature, writing by Shopgirl Kristin.
As Pam and I have been looking over our yarn inventory, we rediscovered the Tahki Donegal Tweed. While not a new yarn to yarn-love, it might be new to you. We thought we'd highlight this rustic beauty for you. In next week's blog you'll find a fiber overview, project ideas, and a few surprises. Pam has already cast on for the lovely Jared Flood Guernsey Wrap (requires Ravelry logon) and I'm hunting for the perfect hat pattern for hubby. (Doesn’t Shopgirl Di rock the Donegal Tweed Vest?) We can't wait to share more so check out What's New @ yarn-love next week!
