what's new and holiday happenings

Hello!

This love note serves up a bunch of stuff about what’s new and holiday happenings at yarn-love. I hope you'll have your calendar handy as you read about Orange Friday and our upcoming 2nd Birthday Party.

PS – Here’s wishing you a wonderful Thanksgiving. I'm looking forward to seeing my newest niece, Isla Weaver, experience her first mouthfuls of real food at our Thanksgiving meal.

What's New
We've got New goodies and a What's new corner to share. Plus, we've been busy scheduling New classes.

New Goodies
  • Namaste bags – We just received a shipment of Namaste bags, including the fabulous Hermosa bag. (Pam couldn’t wait to organize all her stuff in a black Hermosa bag, which she describes as "a self-standing, not-too-big, large project bag with lots of great pockets.")
  • Tahki Donegal Tweed – More colors have arrived of this worsted weight traditional Irish homespun, which is also a great choice for felted projects. New colors include blue heather, bright olive, burgundy, and burnt orange.
  • Loop-d-Loop Tundra is surprisingly light and lofty for super-bulky yarn. This extra-fine merino knits up at 2 stitches/inch. See how lovely this yarn is knit up in our Capelet with Buttons (pictured below on Kristin). We also have all four naturally-heathered colors of Granite by Loop-d-Loop – a plush wool roving (2.5 stitches/inch) that is stitched down the center to show great stitch definition.
  • Plus, we wanted to remind you of our recent arrivals of Lobster Pot Sox yarn and Dream in Color Knitosophy. Louise (pictured hugging Lobster Sox yarn in our last love note) knit the sweet Traveling Woman (requires Ravelry login) in the Boiled Lobster colorway. Pam is currently knitting Herbivore in Knitosophy in the Superhero colorway. Read more about these two yarns in our Newsletter Archive.

What's new corner
We want to keep you in the loop of what's new. As a result, in addition to our monthly newsletters, we will post weekly updates to yarn-love's blog: What's new. Thanks to Kristin for jump starting yarn-love's blog. Here's the scoop:

  • What's new is located on the lower right-hand corner of our home page
  • Each week, you can read about what's new (or whatever is tickling Kristin’s fancy!)
  • Since we love to hear from you! You can comment on a posting and be entered into a prize drawing each month.

New Classes
Have you checked out our classes lately? It's not too early to reserve a seat in our new classes for the new year. January and February classes including Queen Anne's Lace Scarf (super-simple crochet), Teapot Mitten (we'll have a tea party!), Felted Hat (you choose the brim style), and No More Sloppy Seams. Plus, we have Crochet Basics, Knitting Basics, and TWO sock classes (one for double pointed needles and the other for Magic Loop). Be sure to check the class schedule often since we'll be adding more classes.
