yarn·love’s birthday month celebration
Join us throughout December for our birthday celebration at yarn·love. There’s so much fun planned that we need to celebrate all month long! Even though it’s our birthday, we have gifts for you! Please stop in to receive your own special gift. Plus, weekly gift drawings are planned throughout the month. Last, while we’re speaking about gifts, be sure to complete your own yarn·love lust list since a gift registry is a great way to help out the folks who want to give you the perfect gifts.
Winter Wonder-gar-Land Contest – begins November 25 and ends December 20 at 2:00 PM
Let’s build a fabulous winter wonder-gar-land together! Simply knit up or crochet a small item or ornament to add to yarn·love’s garland. Not only will this garland brighten up the soon-to-come winter months, but it is also an opportunity to show your creative side!
Details
- Each item should be no more than 5 inches in height.
- Multiple submissions are encouraged!
- A prize will be awarded in each of these four categories: 1) most creative, 2) most colorful, 3) most winter-y, and 4) most retro (think 1970s orange and avocado colors…).
- Items may be submitted November 24 – December 20.
- Voting will take place through the month of December – with final prizes awarded Saturday, December 20. (You do not need to be present to receive your prize.)
Hi Ho Cherry Oh! – First Friday, December 5 – beginning at 6:00 PM
Join Ruth Thome in making super sweet felted cherries and knitted leaves and stems. More details to follow – but, you’ll want to mark your calendar now! These cherries are so adorable and can turn a purse or hat into a very special accessory. The workshop fee (to be finalized shortly) will include all materials. Class size is limited – enroll early!
Weekly Gifts – Saturdays December 6, 13, 20, 27 – 2:00 PM
It may be our birthday month – but the gifts are going to the fabulous folks who have supported yarn·love all year long! Stop in each week throughout December to enter your name in that week’s gift drawing. Gift drawings will be held each Saturday at 2:00 PM. You do not need to be present to receive a weekly gift, but we hope you will be!
Birthday Cake Blow Out – Second Sunday, December 14 – 2:00 PM
We need you to help us blow out the big candle on our birthday cake! And, you won’t believe the special cake we will have – specially made for us by Cakery in Mount Joy.
Unwind with a Punch – Saturday, December 20 – 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM
We promise it won’t hurt! Take a break from the month’s madness – and pop in to knit or crochet while sampling a tasty punch. Who knows?! Maybe we’ll also look to the new year and develop our ‘New Year’s Knitting & Crocheting Opportunities’ (doesn’t ‘opportunities’ sound much better than ‘resolutions’?) And, the Winter Wonder-gar-Land contest votes will be tallied up, too.
